At BEST Plumbing we are advocates for identifying licensed plumbing status in order to spread public awareness. What’s the difference of an actual licensed plumber compared to an unlicensed plumber? A plumbing license provides legal proof that a plumber has received the education and training required to provide safe plumbing services in our local neighborhoods around Cincinnati, Ohio. Sometimes we hear that a friend or a friend of a friend swears they can make that same plumbing repair cheaper. It makes us wonder if that person knows the difference between licensed plumbers and an Unlicensed Plumber or layperson. Take a look at what it actually takes to become a Licensed Journeyman Plumber at BEST Plumbing.
- Participate in a Sponsored Journeyman Plumber’s Apprenticeship Program- on the job training working alongside our Licensed Journeyman Plumbers
- Attend an Ohio approved Plumbing Apprenticeship training school for 4 years like PACON http://www.paconplumbingschool.com/or CMPAhttps://cmpa-phcc.com/apprentice-program
- Take and Pass the mandated Ohio Plumbing Licensure Exam
Plumbing apprenticeship training covers the basics of a wide range of plumbing systems and components and their installation. Apprentice plumbers will have to get familiar with skills ranging from residential toilets to advanced water heaters and computerized control systems. The standard amount of work experience that is usually required as an apprentice plumber prior to taking a state journeyman plumber test is approximately 4 to 5 years.
The journeyman plumber exam in Ohio is used to determine whether an apprentice plumber possesses all of the requirements and plumbing skills and knowledge that are necessary in order to perform any plumbing related work activities as a licensed journeyman plumber.
Journeyman Plumbers Exam
To pass the journeyman plumber exam to get a license, the applicants will need to have sufficient knowledge of federal and local plumbing codes, state regulations, maintenance and repair of plumbing systems, and of plumbing system installation.
Some repairs around your house can be repaired by that unlicensed plumber or layperson but when it comes to your water pipes or drain pipes please insist on using a plumbing company that actually has licensed journeyman plumbers. At BEST Plumbing all of our plumbers are licensed plumbers because we believe an actual licensed plumber will save you time, money and keep you safe.
